Set of two Carlo stoppers, a little ghost on the top of the bottle
The fruit of the imagination of one of the youngest authors in the Alessi catalog, they were born within the F.F.F. meta-project, an operation that in the early 1990s set out to probe the affective structure of shapes and objects, starting with the idea of reproducing the process of object creation common to the world of children and primitive cultures.
The result was a family of playful objects, reminiscent of small fairy tales, giving appealing responses to common use, suggesting a mediation with play, and being a bridge to the world of the fantastic.
Mattia Di Pink
Born in Carrara in 1969, artist. His obsessive and experimental approach is characterized by an attraction to error and chance, favorite references in potential creative invention.
He has been collaborating with Alessi since 1992.
Alessi's mission statement
Founded in 1921 as a "Brass and nickel silver plate workshop, with foundry," Alessi has always been recognized for the high quality of its products. In almost a century of history it has gradually evolved to become a leading exponent of the "Italian design factories," capable of applying the skills and excellence achieved in design management to very different types of products.
Open to change and international development, the company is at the same time deeply rooted in the tradition and cultural background of its territory: Alessi continues to be synonymous with handcrafted objects made with the help of machines.
Today Alessi's mission is to translate the search for the most advanced cultural, aesthetic, executive and functional quality into industrial mass production. The design product springs from the constant search for mediation between art and industry, between the "Immensity of the Creative Possible" and the needs of the market.
The company's commitment is to constantly work on a borderline, balancing the most advanced expressions of international creativity and the desires of the public. Alessi has been called a "Dream Factory": through its products it aspires to make its contribution to respond to a desire for people's happiness, to the need for Art and Poetry common to all people.
Since 1921, the year the company was founded, the most significant part of Alessi's objects has been made by cold metalworking and, even today, is produced in Italy by the skilled workers at the Crusinallo factory in Omegna. Even when it takes place outside the Crusinallo factory, the guidelines Alessi has established guarantee the same quality standards as the company's original production, in a continuous mediation between the technological complexity of industry and the attention to detail of craftsmanship.
