The Clay Place has been Naples, Florida’s oldest professional pottery studio since 1973, founded by potter Jim Rice. Working out of a garden studio on Shadowlawn Drive, Jim hand-throws functional ceramics -- serving bowls, fish platters, mugs, casseroles, and catch-all dishes -- in every color imaginable, with each piece varying slightly in color and finish. The signature Poem Fish line and the full range of aquatic dishes are oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe, and every piece is made in Naples.
